If you have a medical appointment, you can travel free of charge to and from a health centre in your home municipality or to specialist care within the county. You can travel by city, regional and express bus, as well as by Tåg i Bergslagen within Örebro County.

If you're travelling by bus, you need to show:

  • A paper appointment letter when travelling to your healthcare visit
  • A digital appointment from 1177, Kivra or another secure mailbox with BankID
  • A receipt from your healthcare visit when travelling home

For travel with Tåg i Bergslagen:

  • You can travel on the route between Laxå and Ställdalen
  • Use the same appointment letter as for bus travel, whether digital or paper
  • For the return journey, show the receipt from your healthcare visit

For Service travel:

  • If you cannot travel by bus or train, you can use Service travel
  • The cost is 160 SEK for a single journey if you do not have a travel service permit
  • If you have färdtjänsttillstånd, you pay the same fee as for a regular travel service journey

If you pay for the journey yourself

You can apply for reimbursement afterwards if you travel to and from healthcare. If you travel with a train operator other than Tåg i Bergslagen, this option applies.

Travel to and from health care
  • Travel by summon to visit and receipt home

You can use your paper summon when you travel by bus to your care visit. From the care visit, the receipt for the care visit serves as a ticket.

You can not combine a Ledsagarbevis with a notice of care or a receipt from the care visit.

  • Pay for your trip yourself by bus or train

You can pay for a ticket and get your money back. This applies to both bus and train. If you pay for your ticket yourself, you need to fill in a form for sick leave compensation and send it to the sick leave unit to receive compensation.

For travel with Tåg i Bergslagen:

    • You can travel on the route between Laxå and Ställdalen
    • Use the same appointment letter as for bus travel, whether digital or paper
    • For the return journey, show the receipt from your healthcare visit

If you travel by another trainoperator, you pay for the trip yourself and then get your money back. You need to fill in and send the sick leave compensation form to the sick leave unit.

The form for receiving compensation for your trip is available at 1177

  • If you live far from a stop

If you live far from the nearest bus stop, you can get a free connecting trip with Service travel vehicles or receive compensation for your own car. If it is not possible for you to travel by public transport to your nearest care unit, you can travel with a Service travel vehicle or your own car for a fee. Contact the medical travel unit and we will help you.
